EUI-Net with the support of the Socrates - Erasmus Programme.

The project aims to create an European network of universities and industrial partners to strengthen the university – industry cooperation in the field of education, research and services in a wider European perspective, contributing to the defining and strengthening the role of University within the European Education Area.

TARGET GROUPS

Graduates, students and learners in European universities, academic and research staff in European higher education institutions, university leadership, university stakeholders; professional staff from industrial companies, managers and policy makers etc.

EUI-Net partners

Project partners are 71 organisation from 25 European countries. From Latvia there are 3 partners:

  • Banking institution of Higher Education,
  • Business Innovation Center of Latvian Electronic Industry (LEBIC),
  • Rezekne Higher Education Institution.

Specific objectives of the project

  • Defining and updating generic and specific competences relevant to the industrial sector,
  • Generic and specific competences for the practical stages of the students as part of the curriculum,
  • Promoting synergies between teaching – learning – research in the Universities,
  • To integrate research results in the teaching programmes,
  • To stimulate the innovation capacity.

  • Creating University – Industry consortiums
  • Stimulate participation to the creation of the ERA
  • Create synergy in participation in the research framework programme of the European Commission (e.g. FP6)
