Business
Innovation Center of Latvian Electronic Industry (LEBIC), was established in
1997 on the basis of Radioelectronics Technology center (1993-1997). But
in year 2005 LEBIC is reregistered as Society “Business Innovation Centre of
Latvian Electronic Industry”.
The mission
of LEBIC is to promote development of innovative and knowledge-based
entrepreneurship in the electronic industry and connected branches.
The main
targets of LEBIC to fulfil this mission are:
- To support development of new
innovative products and technologies and implementation in the production,
to collaborate with scientists, experts of branch, nongovernmental
organisations, companies and investors;
- To promote qualifications
rising of branch specialists and engineering practice of the young
generation;
- To promote respect for rights
of scientists and authors of ideas in the implementation of innovation and
developed technologies in compliance with legislation of Latvia
- To participate in local and
international projects, where the consummation of organisations goals is
promoted.
But the
primary thing for LEBIC is interests of its members, therefore every member of
LEBIC obtains:
1) INFORMATION
- Recent possibility of attraction of
financial resources,
- Export promotion activities,
- Possibilities to participate in EU
co-financed projects
- Recent co-operation possibilities in
Latvia.
2) TEAM - the
members of the society LEBIC are representatives from different research
institutions and production companies, that allows successfully organize common
collaborations projects.
3) LINK TO REGIONS OF LATVIA – LEBIC has started their
activities in development of regional entrepreneurship, has good contacts with
regional universities and entrepreneurship supporting centres.
4) LINK TO EU –
as a partner LEBIC participate in 3 different EU 7th framework
projects. Over the years is established good collaboration with innovation and
technological centres in EU countries.
5) SUPPORT
- Coordination of projects,
- Preparation of projects to Latvian
and EU funds, grants,
- Organizing of technology transfer
- Finding collaboration partners to
companies, research organisations.
